You and your 2 nieces bakes 27 cupcakes. This means that there were 27 cupcakes to be distributed evenly between the 3 of you. So divide 27 by 3 to get your answer.

27 ÷ 3 =  9.

This means that each of you would get 9 miniture cupcakes to take home.

Find the distance between points p(8, 2) and q(3, 8) to the nearest tenth.
grandymaker [24]
Distance between two points, d, is given by
d= \sqrt{ ( x_{2} - x_{1}) ^{2} + (y_{2} - y_{1}) ^{2} }

where: (x1, y1) = (8, 2) and (x2, y2) = (3, 8)
d= \sqrt{ ( 3 - 8) ^{2} + (8 - 2) ^{2} } \\ d= \sqrt{ (-5)^{2} + 6^{2} }  \\ d= \sqrt{25+36}  \\ d= \sqrt{61}  \\ d=7.8 \ units

Why would you use the measurement 8 feet 4 inches instead of 7 feet 16 inches?.
lidiya [134]

8 feet 4 inches is more precise and easier to use.

It would be weird to say 7 feet 16 inches, because there's 12 inches in a foot and your already using that measurement.

Hope this is helpful:)
