The two theories which explain the enzyme-substrate interaction are

  • lock and key model
  • induced-fit model

Enzymes function is to increase the reaction rate that takes occurs within cells.

Thus enzyme interact only to a specific substrate for the biochemical reaction catalyze same as the lock and key.
