Light Bulb and Electricity.

Explanation:

In the 19th Century, many inventions changed Americans' lives but the invention of Electricity and the Light bulb was the most essential. Electricity brought about many inventions like the telephone, the telegraph, etc. Thomas Edison was credited for the invention of the Light bulb. The creation of which changed Americans' lives socially, economically, and also society's structure.  It led to the making of home appliances.
