If the storybook cost $20, and it was also 2/5 of his money, then 2/5 of his money is $20. In other words:
2x/5 =20.

Multiplying both sides by 5, we get:
2x = 100.

If we divide both sides by 2, then we're left with:
x = 50.

David had $50 at first.

Nathan opens a new savings account and makes an initial deposit of $400.
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

The answer to the first one is 6

Step-by-step explanation:

If the time frame given is 9 months, then we can find that 9 months is 3/4 of a year. 3/4 x 2% = 0.015.     0.015 x 400 = 6. He would have made 6 dollars in 9 months.

Answer the the second one:

4.5% x 5 (years) = 0.225.     0.225 x 10,000 = 2,250. Since this is a car loan and not a bank interest for example, we add it to the total cost. I'm pretty sure its the third one.

Find the mean of 58, 43, 33, 69, 41, and 74.
andrew11 [14]
The mean is the average of a given data set and can be obtained by taking the sum of all numbers and dividing that by the amount of numbers in the data set.

58 + 43 + 33 + 69 + 41 + 74 = 318

There are 6 numbers in the data set.

318 / 6 = 53
