Assuming these are three separate problems, I have solved them for you below.

1.) -x - y - 3z = -9

⇒ -x + (-y + y) + (-3z + 3z) = -9 + 3z + y

⇒ -x = -9 + 3z + y

Multiply the whole thing by -1 so x is positive.

x = 9 - 3z - y

2.) z = -3x - 1

⇒ z + 1 = -3x + (-1 + 1)

⇒ z + 1 = -3x

Isolate x⇒ \frac{z + 1 = -3x}{-3}

⇒\frac{1}{3}z + \frac{1}{3} = x

3.) x - 5y + z = 21

⇒ (-x + x) + -5y + (z - z) = 21 - z - x

⇒ \frac{-5y = 21 - z - x}{-5}

⇒ y = \frac{1}{5}x + \frac{1}{5}z -  \frac{21}{5}

Answer:

First start by making an X-Y chart

I would recomend using the numbers 0, 1, and 2 as your x values for the first equation.

I would recommend -1, 1, and 2 as your x values for the second one.

Once you have your x values for each equation, plug those numbers into the equations separately. That will give you your Y values. Then all you need to do is plot your points.

If you raise -4 to the power of 2, you will get -4x-4. So (-4)^2 is the answer.

Elimination <br> 2x - 5y = 8 <br> x - 3y = -1

X=29 and y=10

You would isolate one of the variables and then plug the expression into the other equation to find the value of one variable. Then you would plug this value into the other equation to determine the value of the remaining variable.
