Answer:

Option D. y = (-5) is the answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Two circles M and K are congruent.Arc QR is congruent to arc LN and arc OP is congruent to arc VW.

We have to find the value of y.

Since arc QR ≈ arc LN

Therefore, 2x - y = 11 ----------(1)

and arc WV ≈ arc PO

So,  5x + y = 10 ---------(2)

Now by solving equation 1 and equation 2 we will get the value of y.

To solve the equations we will multiply equation 1 by 5 and equation 2 by 2 first, then we will subtract equation 1 from 2.

2(5x + y) - 5(2x - y) = 10×2 - 11×5

10x + 2y - 10x + 5y = 20 - 55

7y = -35

y = (-5)

y = (-5) is the answer.

Katarina [22]

Answer:

(x-3)(x+3)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the expression \displaystyle \large{x^2-9}:—

To factor this expression, we have a formula for it which is <u>difference of two squares</u>:—

\displaystyle \large{a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)}

You can also swap from \displaystyle \large{(a+b)(a-b)} to \displaystyle \large{(a-b)(a+b)} via multiplication property.

From the expression, factor using the formula above:—

\displaystyle \large{x^2-9=(x^2)-(3)^2}\\\displaystyle \large{x^2-9=(x-3)(x+3)}

Therefore, the factored expression is:—

\displaystyle \large{\boxed{(x-3)(x+3)}}
