It is necessary for the pancreas to secrete a high pH solution into the intestine in order to neutralize the acidity of the processed food particles [chyme] that are passed into the intestine and to provide a suitable pH for the enzymes in the intestines that will act on the processed food particles.

Answer:

To neutralize the pH of food from the stomach and then go to the duodenum

Explanation:

The pancreas is one of the organs in the human digestive system. In general, the function of the pancreas in the body is to produce hormones and enzymes to destroy food in the stomach. The pancreas is behind the abdominal cavity with a length of 18-25 cm and has an elongated shape, resembling a fish.

The function of the pancreas is divided into two, namely exocrine and endocrine functions

1. exocrine function

When food has been successfully digested in the stomach and gradually towards the duodenum. Duodenum will produce a hormone called the cholecystokinin hormone. This hormone serves to give stimulation to the pancreas to produce various enzymes and fluids contained in the form of pancreatic gums that help the digestive process. Examples are the salivary glands, sweat glands, and digestive glands.

Various types of enzymes produced, namely lipase enzymes, trypsinogen enzymes, amylase enzymes, pancreatic carbohydrase enzymes, and NaCHO3 fluid.

The pancreas can be said to have the function of exocrine organs having a role in the digestive process to break down complex molecules into simpler molecules. Besides the pancreas also serves to neutralize the pH of food that comes from the stomach to then go to the duodenum.

2. Endocrine function.

The function of the pancreas as an endocrine organ is carried out by the islets of langerhans found in the pancreas. Langerhans Island has four kinds of cells, each of which produces different hormones.

Langerhans is spread throughout the pancreas and is rich in blood vessels. 1-2 percent of the pancreas is composed of Langerhans cells. The cells that are in the langerhans, include alpha pancreas cells, pancreatic beta cells, pancreatic gamma cells, and pancreatic delta cells.

The main task of the pancreas as an endocrine is to regulate blood sugar levels and regulate food absorption.

Adaptation is a heritable trait. The increase of adaptive evolution by the frequency and effectiveness of an advantageous character over time. Organisms became better adapted to their environment. We have so many species in the world because species have adapted to every possible niche. Different habitats and environment have resulted in different modified organisms.

Some of the options for survival and reproduction include genetics ecology, human evolution, molecular evolution, bioinformatics, geology and sociology.
