Since FGE=50, that would mean FGH would equal 180-50, since the angles are supplementary. Next, since we know AD and HE are parrallel, that would mean FGE=BCD and FGH=BCA=130.

Answer:

BCA = 130

Step-by-step explanation:

FGE = 50

FGE + GEC + ECG = 180

50 +90 + ECG = 180

140 + ECG = 180

Subtract 140 from each side

140-140 + ECG = 180-140

ECG = 40

ECG and BCJ are vertical angle, so they are equal

JCA and GEC are corresponding angles so they are equal

We are looking for BCA

ACJ + BCJ = BCA

ACJ + BCJ = BCA

90 + 40 = BCA

130 = BCA

Sheila bought 10 1⁄2 oz of almonds for $3.36. how much did the almonds cost per ounce?
Verdich [7]
Cost per ounce means you take the cost and divide it by the cost:

3.36 / (21/2)

division of fractions changes to the multiplication of the reciprocal:

3.36 * (2 / 21)

3.36 and has 21 as a factor, so let's cancel it:

0.16 * 2

$0.32 per ounce

I just need an explanation for both of these! Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. :))
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

1. Well, to cross multiply them you multiply the numerator in the first fraction times the denominator in the second fraction, then you write that number down. ... The reason we cross multiply fractions is to compare them. Cross multiplying fractions tells us if two fractions are equal or which one is greater.

2. Cross multiplying fractions to find a missing numerator or denominator for equivalent fractions works because it is a shortcut for rearranging to isolate the variable.
