  • <u>Environmental impact</u>: One of the most discussed topics is that the Keystone XL might be constructed as a shortcut in an area characterized by being a fragile and sensitive ecosystem. This section addition will cause important and harmful environmental impacts in Nebraska’s Sand Hills region.  
  • <u>Environmental impact: </u> Another important impact is that oil extraction from the Alberta oil sands, involves a process that requires far more energy, more water, more fuel, and results in an important carbon dioxide emissions. This extraction is much more damaging than conventional oil and gas extraction.
  • <u>Economic impact</u><u>:</u> This project might generate so many jobs that it is argued to be good for the economy. Most jobs are thought to be temporary in two years lapse of time. But there would also be some permanent jobs.  
  • <u>Economic impact</u><u>:</u> Keystone XL construction might enhance energy security.
  • <u>Economic impact</u>: The project also estimates to contribute in a possitive way to the economy of the United States.
