Answer:C). Hormones control the release of eggs.

Explanation: The menstrual cycle is controlled mostly by hormones: oestrogen and progesterone. These hormones controls the release of eggs from the ovary. The ovary releases an egg when there is a peak in the oestrogen level in the body. The release of egg in a menstrual cycle is known as ovulation. Birth control pills contain two synthetic hormones: oestrogen and progestin. These synthetic hormones maintain a consistent level of the natural hormones produced by the body, and an egg will not be released by the ovary if there is no peak in the oestrogen level, thereby they inhibit the release of egg from the ovary. And fertilization can not occur if no egg is released thus pregnancy is prevented.

What would be the advantage(s) to having no chloroplasts in the cells of the spongy mesophyll?
Gwar [14]
Well, first off the spongy mesophyll does have some chloroplasts, however they are located quite far from the surface of the leaf where most of the chloroplasts are. Therefore they don't get much light and don't contribute a lot to photosynthesis in the leaf. So why should the leaf waste the energy in making chloroplasts if there is not enough light to make them all efficient enough at photosynthesis?
