hl experiment demonstrated which of the following about DNA replication? This experiment proved that DNA replicated semiconservatively; half the original polynucleotide is conserved in each of the two copies. For diversity, all three processes are operational. This experiment proved that DNA replicated conservatively; one of the two daughter duplexes is the conserved parental duplex, while the other is synthesized de novo. This experiment proved that DNA replicated dispersively; the parental material is scattered through the structures of the daughter duplexes.

The choice of the correct answer about DNA replication examined by Meselson-Stahl is This experiment proves that DNA is replicated semi conservatively, half of the original polynucleotides are stored in each of the two copies.

Further explanation

DNA replication can occur with the synthesis of new nucleotide chains from the old nucleotide chains. The process uses complementary base pairs to produce a new DNA molecule that is the same as the old DNA molecule. The process that occurs is influenced by the enzyme helicase, polymerase enzyme, and ligase.

Below is a little explanation of the 3 theories that explain DNA replication:

a. The conservative, which is that the two old DNA chains remain unchanged, functions as a template for two new DNA chains.

b. Semiconservative, ie two old DNA chains are separated and a new chain is synthesized with the principle of complementation in each of the old DNA chains. Finally, two new DNA chains are produced, each containing an old printed DNA molecule and one new synthesized chain.

c. Dispersive, which is a part of the two old DNA chains used for printing new DNA chain synthesis. Therefore, the end of the study obtained the old and new DNA chains that spread on the old and new DNA chains. This replication obtains two old DNA molecules and a new DNA that links each other to each strand.

Experiments carried out by Meselson-Stahl is a continuation of experiments conducted by Watson and Crick. After successfully modeling DNA structures (Double helix), Watson and Crick predict that DNA replicates in a semiconservative way. And then in 1958, Matthew Meselson and Franklin Stahl experimented to test the three alternative hypotheses (theories) of DNA replication using the Escherichia coli bacterial DNA. The results turned out to support the semiconservative replication model predicted by Watson and Crick

Answer:

This experiment proved that DNA replicated semiconservatively; half the original polynucleotide is conserved in each of the two copies

Explanation:

Semi-conservative mode of replication means that the two strands of DNA unwind from each other, and each of themacts as a template for synthesis of a new, complementary strand. As a result, two formed DNA moleculesc ontain one original strand and one new strand.

Meselson and Stahl experiment showed this model by labeling the DNA of bacteria across generations using isotopes of nitrogen ( patterns of DNA labeling showed the mode of replication).

Individuals without AFS have a glutamic acid at position 487 on the ALDH2 protein, whereas individuals with AFS have a lysine at
azamat

Answer:

Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) is an enzyme required to eliminate toxins such as acetaldehyde and alcohol, thereby mutations in this protein may be associated with the Alcohol flush syndrome (AFS)

Explanation:

ALDH2 is a protein required for ATP generation by catalyzing the oxidation of aldehydes to carboxylic acids (i.e., oxidation of NADH to NAD+). Mutations in the ALDH2 gene have been associated with the inactive form of this enzyme, and this specific mutation at position 487 alters its enzymatic activity associated with the metabolism of acetaldehyde and alcohol. This amino acid substitution may lead to the active site-directed inactivation of the enzyme.
