How do I solve 7 1/2-1 7/8

Mathematics

First convert both mixed numbers to improper fractions:
7 1/2 = 15/2
1 7/8 = 15/8
second, make sure both fractions have a common denominator:
15/2 converts to 60/8
third, subtract!
60/8-15/8 = 45/8
your final answer is 5 and 5/8

Since both fractions are "mixed numbers"

We can change them up, a little

7 1/2 = 15/2

1 7/8 = 15/8

Now, lets simplify the problem all together

7 + 1/2 - 1 - 7/8

Take out the 7 & 1

So, 7 - 1 = 6 , right?

Next, 1/2 - 7/8 = _______

4/8 - 7/8 = 3/8, right?

Next, (part 2) 6 - 3/8 (this would give you your answer

So, therefore, your answer would have to be 5 5/8

Evaluate the formula for the perimeter of a rectangle to solve the problem. Then check all that apply.
natita [175]

1. 2(8x – 1) + 2(2x + 4)

2. 16x – 2 + 4x + 8

3. (20x + 6)

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of the rectangle with length 8x - 1 and width 10x + 3 is 20x + 6

The formula for calculating the perimeter of a rectangle is expressed as:

P = 2( l + w)

Given the following parameters

length l = 8x - 1

width w = 2x + 4

Substitute the expressions for the length and width into the formula;

P = 2(8x - 1 + 2x + 4)

P = 2(10x + 3)

Distribute 2 over each term in the parenthesis

P = 2(10x) + 2(3)

P = 20x + 6

Hence the perimeter of the rectangle with length 8x - 1 and width 10x + 3 is 20x + 6

Find the value of the lettered angles in these diagram
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

1. m = 65°

x = 30°

2. x = 40°

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Since the figure is an isosceles triangle, m = 2x - 5

180 - 50 = 130 (Total degree for both m and 2x - 5)

130 ÷ 2 = 65 (m and 2x - 5 angle degrees)

65 - 5 = 60 (2x)

2 x = 60°

x = 60 ÷ 2 = 30°

2. I forgot the parallel rule for question 2, but I think X and 40° is parallel to each other?
