A one-dimensional particle-in-a-box may be used to illustrate the import kinetic energy quantization in covalent bond formation.

For example, the electronic energy change associated with the reaction H+H H2 may be modeled by treating each reactant H atom as an electron in a one-dimensional box of length LH 5a0 (the 99% electron density diameter of hydrogen), and treating he diatomic H2 as a one-dimensional box of length LH2 RB+5ao (where ao is the Bohr radius of hydrogen and Re 0.74 Å is the experimental bond length of H2). (a) Use the above particle-in-a-box model to model ance of predict the bond formation energy of H2, and compare your result with the experi- mental value of -436 kJ/mol. (b) What interactions have been neglected in the above calculation and what does your result imply with regard to the importance of kinetic energy quantization in covalent bond formation?

The average kinetic energy of the particles in a sample of matter is expressed as
vredina [299]

Answer: 3/2 ×KT

Explanation: The average kinetic energy of particles (molecules) in a simple matter is given as

K.E = 3/2 ×KT

where K = boltzman constant and and T = absolute temperature.

James m = 85.0 kg and ramon m = 59.0 kg are 20.0 m apart on a frozen pond. midway between them is a mug of their favorite bevera
Vlad [161]
You can use conservation of momentum, Ramon has a momentum of m * v = 59.0 * 1.20 = 70.8. James must have that same momentum so m * v = p -->
p / m = v --> 70.8 / 85.0 = 0.83 m/s for James

Two equal forces are applied to a door. The first force is applied at the midpoint of the door;
fredd [130]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

Torque exerted on an object depends upon three things.

1. Moment arm

2. Magnitude of applied force

3. Direction of force

T=r x F

T= r * F sinФ

Let T1 is force due to force applied at mid point of door.

let d is the width of door, so

T1= \frac{d}{2}* F * sin(90°)                  (∴ moment arm =d)

T1=\frac{d* F}{2}  __________(2)       (∴ sin 90°=1)

Let T2 is the torque due to force applied at the doorknob.

T2=  d* F * sin(90)                                (∴ moment arm =d)

T2=d*F __________(2)                      (∴ sin 90°=1)

From equation (1) and equation (2)

2T1=T2

or

T1= T2/2

As T2 is greater so option B is the correct answer.
