Explain how the process of Thermohaline Circulation causes deepwater currents to travel from the poles to the equator, and back

The ocean waters at the equator are warm because they receive more of the sun rays than the waters at the at the poles.  Therefore, the water in these regions is less dense than those at the poles. The oceans currents, moving towards the poles from the equator, move on the surface waters while those from the poles move on the ocean floor.

As the warm currents move to the poles and cool, they become more saline because they become more concentrated with salts –saturation point lowers with temperatures. At the poles, most of the salts in ejected from the waters as brine as the water sinks to the ocean floor due to density.

This movement of water currents in such circular motion forms the Thermohaline Circulation. Heat on the planet is distributed in this way.

This process occurs in all sorts of vertebrate species that have finger- or toe-like digits, and less apoptosis results in more webbing between the digits. Sometimes, if a small mistake happens during finger or toe development, apoptosis may be incomplete (leading, for instance, to fused toes).

Other examples of apoptosis during normal development include the loss of a tadpole’s tail as it turns into a frog, and the removal of unneeded neurons in as neural circuits in the brain are “wired.”

Apoptosis can eliminate infected or cancerous cells

In some cases, a cell can pose a threat to the rest of the body if it survives. For instance, this may be the case for cells with DNA damage, pre-cancerous cells, and cells infected by viruses. If these cells undergo apoptosis, the threat to the rest of the organism (such as cancer or spread of a viral infection) is removed.

When a cell’s DNA is damaged, it will typically detect the damage and try to repair it. If the damage is beyond repair, the cell will normally send itself into apoptosis, ensuring that it will not pass on its damaged DNA. When cells have DNA damage but fail to undergo apoptosis, they may be on the road to cancer.

Explanation:

Meiosis makes genetic variety possible. It makes sperm & egg cells called gametes. Each gamete has 23 chromosomes. To make a diploid cell two gametes (sperm & cell) come together.

During prophase 1 the chromosomes pair up with their homologous pairs so they can transfer their genetic information and exchange it between each other. It makes recombinant chromosomes that influence the genetic diversity between the same people.

Now they are in metaphase 1, the chromosomes are in pairs in the middle of the cell. In anaphase 1, the chromosomes are pulled away by the spindle fibers. Then in telophase 1, there are two formed nuclei. Cytokinesis 1 then splits the cytoplasm.

Now they are in meiosis 2. During prophase 2, there are chromosomes and the spindles are starting to form again without crossing over like in prophase 1. In metaphase 2, chromosomes are going to line up in the middle in both cells unlike during metaphase 1 where the chromosomes were only in pairs.  In anaphase 2, only the chromatids are being pulled away by the spindle fibers. Next in telophase 2 the nuclei reform and the 2 cells are each going to divide into 4 cells. Finally, cytokinesis completely splits the cytoplasm.

Keeping in mind that each sex only produces one type of gamete cell (sperm or eggs), and of the independent assortment and crossing over of chromosomes, the end result will be diversity.
