Answer:

Leasing.

Explanation:

Find the present value of each and compare and choose the one with the lowest cost in present value terms.

LEASE;

Payments are in form of an annuity ;done using financial calculator (TI BA II plus)

PMT = -30,000

N ;duration = 4

I/Y = 10%

FV = 0

then CPT PV = -$95,095.96

BUY

Initial cost; (already in present value terms) = -$80,000

Annual maintenance(is an annuity); done using financial calculator (TI BA II plus)

PMT = -10,000

N ;duration = 4

I/Y = 10%

FV = 0

then CPT PV = -$31,698.65

Add PV of salvage value;

PV = FV/ (1+r)^4

PV = 20,000 /(1.10^4)

= 20,000/ 1.4641

= $13,660.26911

Overall PV of BUYING = (-80,000 -31,698.65 + 13,660.26911) = -$98,038.38

Therefore, leasing is a better option since the overall present value of costs is lower at $95,095.96 compared to that of buying at 98,038.38.

What is a power grid?
Sindrei [870]

Answer:

What is a power grid?

C) Transmission lines and transformers that take and send electricity from generating facilities to end users

Explanation:

A power grid is a system of interconnected transmission lines and transformers that takes electricity from the producers to the consumers. The power grid is very important in the supply of electricity to consumers. Before power is to be transmitted to the consumers, it has to be generated. Traditionally, the conventional way of generating power was from central power stations that utilized sources like; fossil fuels, coal and natural gas. In the recent past, however, more advancements have been made towards more clean energy sources like; wind, geothermal and hydroelectricity. Clean energy sources have several benefits over the traditional sources of energy, like; they don't cause harm to the environment and also they are renewable since they can be used over and over without depletion.

Once the energy has been harnessed and converted to electricity, it needs to be transmitted. The network for transmission to the consumers is what makes up the power grid. Transmission is usually done at very high voltage to minimize losses. However, before providing it the consumers, the electricity needs to be converted to a low voltage by the use of transformers for domestic and commercial consumption.

shtirl [24]

Answer:

Results are below.

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Fixed costs= $192,000

Unitary variable cost= $320 per week

Selling price per unit= $480 per week

To calculate the total cost, we need to use the following formula:

Total cost= fixed costs + unitary variable cost*number of units

Total cost= 192,000 + 320*number of weeks

Now, the total revenue:

Total revenue= selling price per week*Number of weeks

Total revenue= 480*x

Finally, the break-even point in units:

Break-even point in units= fixed costs/ contribution margin per unit

Break-even point in units= 192,000 / (480 - 320)

Break-even point in units= 1,200 campers

In a period of falling interest rates, a bond dealer would engage in which of the following activities?I Raise prices in interde
vredina [299]

Answer:

C. I, II, III

Explanation:

In a period of falling interest rates, a bond dealer would engage in all of the following activities except for IV. Therefore, a dealer would raise his quoted price in Bloomberg. If the dealer has an appreciated bond that he wishes to sell, he can place ''Request for Bids'' for those bonds in Bloomberg. The dealer may buy bond the he has previously sold short to limit losses due to rising price. To protect existing short position against the rising price, the dealer will buy call options, not put options. Put options are used in protecting existing long position from falling price.

A privately held corporation, partnership, or sole proprietorship that employs fewer people and has a lower yearly income than a corporation or regular-sized business is referred to as a small business.
