<span></span>Wolves and coyotes usually compete for prey, especially the smaller mammals. Wolves do not actively hunt coyotes but do attack them when the latter ventures into their territory.

With decreasing wolf populations, coyotes can then venture and hunt more freely. However, the coyotes cannot take the place of the wolves in helping maintain balance in the ecosystem in which they belong to because of their preference for smaller mammals.

Wolves can help regulate an ecosystem's larger mammals such as the ungulate populations, as they do not prey on the smaller mammals as much as coyotes do. This leaves more prey available for mid-level carnivores like foxes. Moreover, wolves also leave behind carcasses of their prey, which become food for other animals such as <span>foxes, badgers, raptors, coyotes and other scavengers.</span>

During endocytosis large molecules cells and cell fragments moved across the plasma membrane through a process of <em>invagination;</em> piece of the external cell membrane falls into itself and forms a small pocket that surrounds the target molecule this breaks off from the membrane to form an intracellular vesicle. Different methods of endocytosis such as <em>phagocytosis, pinocytosis </em>and receptor-mediated <em>endocytosis</em>, take in cells,  water and targeted substances respectively.

Like endocytosis, the particles (signal proteins, neurotransmitters and waste material) are surrounded by a phospholipid membrane. However, in exocytosis, this membrane is formed in the cytoplasm, and merges with the plasma membrane’s interior in a process <em>opposite to </em>endocytosis; material is removed from the cell and exported into the cell’s exterior called the extracellular space.

A germline mutation is a mutation in the fully developed germ cells (sperm and ovum). These defective mutated cells fuse to form zygote. The zygote rapidly produces all somatic and germline cells in the offsprings which are also mutated. Therefore, mutation is transmitted from parents to offsprings. Cystic fibrosis is a result of germline mutation. This disease is hereditary in nature passes from parents to the offsprings. If a child receives CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) mutated gene from both the parents than the child will be affected by the symptoms of this disease. If the child receives a single copy of CFTR gene from either of the parent than the child will be the carrier of disease.The mutated gene may be present in the germline cells of the parent or on all the body cells.
