There are 11 skateboards and 9 bikes.

Set up your equations: 4s+2b=52 and b+s=20
Multiply the 2nd by 2, 2b+2s=40
Subtract the second equation from the first
2s=22
so 11 skateboards and 9 bikes

What is the answer to this <br> 25=-7(x+5)+5x
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

x = -25

Step-by-step explanation:

25 = -7(x + 5) + 5x

25 = -7x - 25 + 5x

5x - 7x - 25 = 25

5x - 7x - 25 + 25 = 25 + 25

5x - 7x = 50

-2x = 50

-2x/-2 = 50/-2

x = -25

Is a vertical line a function
topjm [15]

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation 1)A vertical line can be represented by the equation x=a, where a can be any number. If you think about it, there is no y in the function, this making it not a function.

Explanation 2) For a line to be a function it has to pass the vertical line test, so you will draw a vertical line through the function and if it touches more than one point then it is not a function. In this case if you draw a vertical line through a vertical line there are an infinite number of places where the lines intercept, so it is not a function.

5. 3x + 5y + 5z =1<br> x - 2y = 5<br> 2x + 4y = 11
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the 3 equations

3x + 5y + 5z = 1 → (1)

x - 2y = 5 → (2)

2x + 4y = 11 → (3)

Use (2) and (3) to solve for x and y

Multiply (2) by 2

2x - 4y = 10 → (4)

Add (3) and (4) term by term

4x = 21 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = \frac{21}{4\\}

Substitute this value of x into (3)

2 × \frac{21}{4\\} + 4y = 11

\frac{21}{2\\} + 4y = 11 ( subtract \frac{21}{2\\} from both sides )

4y = \frac{1}{2} ( divide both sides by 4 )

y = \frac{1}{8\\}

Substitute the values of x and y into (1) and solve for z

3 × \frac{21}{4\\} + 5 × \frac{1}{8\\} + 5z = 1

\frac{63}{4} + \frac{5}{8} + 5z = 1

\frac{131}{8} + 5z = 1 ( subtract \frac{131}{8} from both sides )

5z = - \frac{123}{8} ( divide both sides by 5 )

z = - \frac{123}{40}

Solution is

x = \frac{21}{4\\}, y = \frac{1}{8\\}, z = - \frac{123}{40}
