For effects of the problem we will consider each candy as if it were a cube of side equal to the diameter
[the volume of a cube]=b³b=diameter--------> b=0.25 in[the volume of a cube]=0.25³-----> 0.015625 in³
[total volume of the candies in the machine]=120*[volume of one candy][total volume of the candies in the machine]=120*[0.015625][total volume of the candies in the machine]=1.875 in³
the answer is 1.875 in³

Harman [31]

Answer:

75%

Step-by-step explanation:

You pick a card at random. 6 7 8 9 What is P(not 9)? Write your answer as a percentage. %

Given the following

Total cards = 4 (6,7,8,9)

If the card is not 9, the required card will be (6,7,8)

Number of cards that are not 9 is 3

Probability = expected/total

Pr(not 9) = 3/4

express as percent

Pr(not 9) = 3/4×100

Pr(not 9) = 75%

A line passes through the points (–1, –5) and (4, 5). The point (a, 1) is also on the line.
leva [86]
Find the equation of the line through the points (–1, –5) and (4, 5). First, find the slope: m = rise / run = 5/10 = 1/2.

Then the equation is y-5=(1/2)(x-4). If (a,1) is on this line, (a,1) must satisfy the given equation. Let y=1 and solve for x:

1-5 = (1/2)(x-4) Mult both sides by 2 to get -2 = x-4. Then x = -4+2 = -2

So (-2,1) is also on the line.
