Thus the value of [OH⁻] calculated is = 3.3 × 10⁻⁶ M

Explanation:

Given:

Concentration of H₃O⁺ = 3.3 × 10⁻⁹ M

To Find:

Concentration of OH⁻ ion = ?

Solution:

From the K_{w} value, and the concentration of H⁺ ion, we can find the concentration of hydroxyl ions, as K_{w} is the product of the concentration of H⁺ and OH⁻ ions. We have the concentration of hydronium ion or H⁺ ion and K_{w} value, dividing K_{w} by the H⁺ ion concentration, we will get the concentration of OH⁻ ion as,

K_{w} = [H₃O⁺] × [OH⁻]

    = 3.0 × 10⁻⁹ × [OH⁻]

Now we have to divide as,

[OH⁻] =  $\frac{1\times10^-14}{3\times10^{-9}} = 3.3 × 10⁻⁶ M

: hydrochloric acid reacts with the mineral calcite to produce carbon dioxide gas, water, and calcium chloride. based on what yo
bearhunter [10]
Following three things when applied could make the reaction to occur more quickly;

1) Increasing Temperature:
                                          Increase in temperature increases the Kinetic energy of molecules. This results in increase in the velocity and rate of collisions between reactants. Hence, greater the number of collisions between reactants per time greater will be the probability of formation of product per unit time.

2) Grinding Calcite:
                              Grinding of Calcium carbonate results in the increase of surface area of calcite. So greater the surface area greater is the exposure of Calcium carbonate to HCl molecules, hence the rate of formation of product increases.

3) Using Catalyst:
                            Very important. Catalyst when used decreases the activation energy and increase the rate of reaction by following methods.

                       a) Providing new pathway

                       b) weakening the bonds

                       c) providing surface area

                       d) holding up the reactant close to each other.

The catalyzed reaction is first order in [ce4+] and first order in [mn2+]. which of the steps in the catalyzed mechanism is rate
Dimas [21]

Answer:

The answer is Ce^4+ (aq) + Mn^2+ (aq) ==> Ce^3+ (aq) + Mn^3+ (aq)

Explanation:

The reaction is first order with respect to Ce^4+ and first order with respect to Mn^2+ below.

Ce^4+ (aq) + Mn^2+ (aq) ==> Ce^3+ (aq) + Mn^3+ (aq)

The rate calculation,

Ce^4+ (aq) + Mn^2+ (aq) ==> Ce^3+ (aq) + Mn^3+ (aq)

This is the catalyzed reaction.

What is the difference between the atom and isotope
EleoNora [17]

Answer:

Atoms consist of a nucleus made of protons and neutrons orbited by electrons.

Isotopes are atoms that have same number of protons but they differ in the number of neutrons and in atomic mass.
