1 cup of chocolate chips for every 1and 3/4 cup of flour

 so divide 4 and 2/3 x 1 and 3/4

turn them both into fractions

4 2/3 = 14/3

1 3/4 = 7/4

14/3 / 7/4 = 14/3 x 4/7 = 56/21 = 2 and 2/3 cups of chocolate chips are needed

Trapezoidal is involving averageing the heights
the 4 intervals are
[0,4] and [4,7.2] and [7.2,8.6] and [8.6,9]

the area of each trapezoid is (v(t1)+v(t2))/2 times width

for the first interval
the average between 0 and 0.4 is 0.2
the width is 4
4(0.2)=0.8

2nd
average between 0.4 and 1 is 0.7
width is 3.2
3.2 times 0.7=2.24

3rd
average betwen 1.0 and 1.5 is 1.25
width is 1.4
1.4 times 1.25=1.75

4th
average betwen 1.5 and 2 is 1.75
width is 0.4
0.4 times 1.74=0.7

add them all up
0.8+2.24+1.75+0.7=5.49

5.49
t=time
v(t)=speed
so the area under the curve is distance
covered 5.49 meters

A spherical balloon is being inflated at a rate of 3 cubic inches per second. Determine the change in the rate of the radius.How
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

The rate rate of change of radius is \frac{1}{48\pi} inches per second when the diameter is 12 inches.

The radius is changing more rapidly when the diameter is 12 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

A spherical balloon is being inflated at a rate of 3 cubic inches per second.

The volume of sphere is V=\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3

Differentiate the above formula with respect to time.

\frac{dV}{dt}=4\pi r^2\frac{dr}{dt}

Substitute the respective values in the above formula,

3=4\pi 6^2\frac{dr}{dt}

\frac{1}{48\pi}=\frac{dr}{dt}

The rate rate of change of radius is \frac{1}{48\pi} inches per second when the diameter is 12 inches.

When d=16

3=4\pi 8^2\frac{dr}{dt}

\frac{3}{256\pi}=\frac{dr}{dt}

Thus, the radius is changing more rapidly when the diameter is 12 inches.
