There are an infinite number of lines that have an x-intercept of (-5,0).  One of them is the x-axis, for which the slope is zero; another is the line x = -5, for which the slope is undefined.  Lots and lots more!

If we arbitrarily choose m = 2, and start with (-5,0), we go 1 unit to the right and from there 2 units up.  Plot this new point, (-3,2).  Draw a line thru (-3,2) and (-5,0).  Please note that this is only one example of many possible examples.

Round each number to the place of underlined digit: <br> *1*60,656<br> 1-is underlined
Vinvika [58]

take the number to the right of the underlined digit. if its 4 or less, the digits of the underlined one to the left stay the same, while the digits on the right are turned into 0's.

I'll do a few to help you out:

1. *1*60,656 = 200,000

2. *1*49,590 = 100,000

3. 117,*8*21 = 117,800

Which is an equation of a line that passes through the points (2, 6) and<br> (-2,4)?
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

Equal the gradient of the given points & of some arbitrary point

Step-by-step explanation:

The gradient of the line = \frac{6-4}{2-(-2)}=\frac{2}{4} =\frac{1}{2}

Select some arbitrary point p(x,y)  on that line and rewrite the relationship for the gradient with either point (given) and then equal it to what we just calculated.

\begin{aligned}\frac{y-6}{x-2} &= \frac{1}{2}\\y-6&= \frac{1}{2}(x-2)\\y&= \frac{1}{2}x+5\end{aligned}

4cos^2(x)-7cos(x)+3<br> Please help and explain how you did it :)
dangina [55]

I assume you're asked to solve

4 cos²(<em>x</em>) - 7 cos(<em>x</em>) + 3 = 0

Factor the left side:

(4 cos(<em>x</em>) - 3) (cos(<em>x</em>) - 1) = 0

Then either

4 cos(<em>x</em>) - 3 = 0   <u>or</u>   cos(<em>x</em>) - 1 = 0

cos(<em>x</em>) = 3/4   <u>or</u>   cos(<em>x</em>) = 1

From the first case, we get

<em>x</em> = cos⁻¹(3/4) + 2<em>nπ</em>  <u>or</u>   <em>x</em> = -cos⁻¹(3/4) + 2<em>nπ</em>

and from the second,

<em>x</em> = <em>nπ</em>

where <em>n</em> is any integer.

Move each point to the table to show what quadrant it is in when plotted on a coordinate plane.
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

quadrant 1 - (2,4)

quadrant 2 - (-3,4)

quadrant 3 - (-1, -5)

quadrant 4 - (6, -1)

Step-by-step explanation:

quadrant one consists of both x and y being positive.

quadrant two being the x is negative but the y is negative.

quadrant 3 has its x and y both negative.

finally, quadrant 4 has its x positive, but y is negative.
