Wild forest fires cause extensive damage to flora and fauna and result in destruction of man-made property in and around the area of fire.

Controlled fires are used by agriculturists and forest officials to keep wild fires at bay. It involves careful, controlled burning of certain areas of the forest, to clear it off inflammable organic matter. In the event of fire, this cleared-off area acts as a barrier for fire from spreading further.

In the process of controlled burning, several wild animals are killed and lose their habitat. Thick smoke from such man-made fires is a cause for environmental concern too.

In “Broadcaster John Hilton Talks about Talking,” what is used to contribute to a stream-of-consciousness style of writing?
4vir4ik [10]
I have not read the passage myself, but here are some helpful tips that can help you to figure it out. An ellipses is a series of three periods (...). Imagery is description that involves the senses, typically sight. Whatever the story makes you visualize is its imagery. Metaphors are figures of speech that contain comparisons, but do not use "like" or "as." Examples of metaphors include "the blanket of snow" or "the curtain of night." A setting is when or where the story takes place. Hope this helps.

What is the structure of the sentence?
zmey [24]
The correct answer is B, 'compound-complex sentence', because this particular sentence consists of two independent clauses ('gracefully, the dancer took a bow) and ((the dancer) smiled) and one dependent clause (before she left the stage), which is the definition of a compound-complex sentence.
