Americans value equality and in Wilson's Fourteen points, colonial claims were adjusted according to the territories needs. Open communication was also highlighted as Americans value public understandings. Competition and free enterprise were obviously addressed in the Fourteen Points as well.

Las mujeres, durante la guerra ocuparon el trabajo de los hombres en la industria puesto que ellos estaban en la guerra. Esto hizo que las mujeres tuvieran más libertad (dentro de lo que cabe) y más dependencia económicamente. Una vez la guerra se acabó, el pais quería que las mujeres volvieran a ser las amas de casa pero estas se negaron. Esto trajo mucho debate en esa época.
