Find the value of x and y..
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

x=30° y=110°

Step-by-step explanation:

80+70=150

180-150=30° 》》》》 angles in a triangle add up to 180°

x=30° opposite angles are equal

180-140=40° angles on a straight line add up to 180°

30+ 40=70

180-70=110°

y=110°

This figure consists of a rectangle and a quarter circle.
poizon [28]

The perimeter of the figure is 50.56 cm.

Solution:

Radius of the quarter of a circle = 8 cm

Perimeter of the quarter circle = \frac{1}{4} 2\pi r

                                                  $=\frac{1}{4} \times 2  \times 3.14  \times 8

                                                  = 12.56 cm

In figure, one side of the quarter circle is merged with rectangle, so remove one radius from the perimeter of the quarter circle.

Perimeter of the given quarter circle = 12.56 cm – one radius

                                                             = 12.56 cm – 8 cm

                                                             = 4.56 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle given = (17 – 8) cm + 10 cm + 17 cm + 10 cm

                                                       = 9 cm + 10 cm + 17 cm + 10 cm

                                                       = 46 cm

Perimeter of the given figure = 4.56 cm + 46 cm

                                                = 50.56 cm

Hence the perimeter of the figure is 50.56 cm.

The waiters poured 160 eight-ounce glasses of water at the banquet. How many gallons is this? Show your work.
larisa86 [58]
160 * 8 = 1280 ounces.  1280/64 = 20  half gallons 20*1/2= 10      So you have 20 half gallons or 10 gallons.

Two number have a sum of 1212 and a difference 518. What are the two numbers?
Lady_Fox [76]
The answers are 347 and 865. To solve this problem you set up two equations, x+y=1212 and x-y=518. You then get the second x by itself by adding y to both sides. You then have x+y=1212 and x=y+518. After this you substitute the x into the first equation and have y+518+y=1212. Then simplify to 2y=694 and y=347
Now that y=347 you put it in the original equation. Solve and get that x=865
