Is there a relationship between a planets length if a day and its distance from the sun​

<u>Explanation</u>: Day occurs on  the part of the planet that is turned towards the sun. However, most planets, including Earth, rotate around their axis. Thus, a certain point on our planet will experience a day/night cycle depending on its position in relation to the sun.

Because of this, the length of a day is determined by the rotation speed of the planet; the higher the speed the shorter the day. It is still not completely known what determines how fast a planet rotates. However, we have enough information to determinet that the distance between the planet and its sun is <em>not</em> a factor.

This distance determines the length of a year, which is the time it takes for a planet to complete a resolution around its star. Planets further way from their star will have a larger orbit, and thus a longer distance to traverse.
