An advantage of a CT scan over an MRI is that it can guide treatment of cardiac disease. A CT Scan (or CAT Scan) is best suited for viewing bone injuries, diagnosing lung and chest problems, and detecting cancers, while an MRI is suited for examining soft tissue in ligament and tendon injuries, spinal cord injuries, brain tumors, etc.

The first step in responding to any sports injury is to __________.
viva [34]
Immobilize the injured area. Often the common mistake committed in sports injuries is to move the injured person from the site where the injury occurred. This should not be done and should be highly avoided as this may aggravate the injury further. Athletes are always recommended to stay put in the area of injury and wait for a physician to assess and check the situation.

After this a person should practice the principle of R.I.C.E.  (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) to make the injury heal faster and prevent further damage on the surrounding tissues.
