Despite the fact that the Indian government since the ’90s is fighting to open the country’s market the problems persists. Most of the problems are the high rate of corruption, bureaucracy and inefficiency and inequality. Poor tax collections make things worse, which makes infrastructure investments by the government even harder.

The lack of infrastructure to basic needs such as running water and electricity are the most common problems, more than 78 million homes do not have electricity, a report by WaterAid shows that 5% of its population live without access to clean water.
