Answer: 8x - 20

Explanation: To simplify the problem you see here, we are going to use both the distributive property and combining like terms.

But before we do anything, we need to change

these minus signs to plus negatives.

Now we can distribute the 6 through the first set of parentheses

and the -2 through the second set of parentheses.

That gives us 6(2x) or 12x + 6(-3) or -18 + -2(2x)

which is + -4x + -2(1) which is + -2.

Now we can combine like terms.

12x + -4x is 8x and -18 + -2 is -20.

So 8x - 20 is our final answer.

Answer:

8x - 20

Step-by-step explanation:

6(2x - 3) - 2(2x + 1)

Distribute

6(2x) -6( 3) - 2(2x) -2( 1)

12x -18 -4x -2

Combine like terms

12x -4x -18 -2

8x-20

What is the answer to > solve 4cos (theta/3) -2 = 0, over [0, 4pi)
Vesna [10]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

@ = pi/3 (or 60 degrees) or @ = 7 pi/3 (or 420 degrees)

Discussion:

Let "@' denote the angle "theta". We are asked to find @ in the interval [0, 4 pi)

where

4cos(@) - 2 = 0. Adding 2 to both sides

4 cos(@) - 2 +2 = 2  =>

4 cos(@) = 2 Divide both sides by 4

cos(@) = 2/4 = 0.5

This implies that @ = pi/3 (or 60 degrees) or @ = (pi/3 + 2pi) = 7 pi/3 (or 420 degrees)

Thank you,

MrB
