Answer:

(C) 7.15 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The floor's dimension is given as: 33 feet long and 24 feet wide.

If the length is increased by 30%

New Length =130% of 33 =1.3X33 = 42.9 feet

On the scale drawing:

1 centimeter=6 feet

x centimeter=42.9 feet

Cross Multiply

6x=42.9

x=42.9/6=7.15 cm.

The length of the floor on the new scale drawing is 7.15cm.

Find an equation of the parabola with focus (2, −3) and directrix y = 1.
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The correct option is option (C).

The required equation of the parabola is

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula:

The distance of a point (x₁,y₁) from a line ax+by+c=0 is

.

The distance between two points (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂) is

Given that, the focus of the parabola is (2,3) and directrix y= - 1.

We know that, a parabola is the locus of points that equidistant from the directrix and the focus.

Let any point on the parabola be P(x,y) .

The distance of P from the directrix is

=y+1

The distance of the point P from the focus (2,3) is

According to the problem,

How do I turn two points into slope intercept form
inna [77]
You use those points and first find the sloope. so change in y over change in x

then once you find the slope. you plug in the points into y=mx+b
ex: if you figured out that m=1 (the slope)
then y= 1x +b..so then say you know that one point is 1,1
so 1=1(1)+b so then b =1////
hope this helps

Suppose 21% of people own a dog. If you pick two people at random, then what is the probability that they both own a dog?
Goshia [24]

Hello there i hope you are having a great day :) Your question: Suppose 21% of people own a dog. If you pick two people at random, then what is the probability that they both own a dog?

1) 21% own a dog so you would do 21/100 = 0.21 this would equal the first person now the second person you would do 21/100 = 0.21

2) now you would multiply it so 0.21 x 0.21 = 0.0441 the that would be your answer.

Hopefully that helps you ❤

A bag of oranges weighs 5 1/4 pounds. how much do (1 & 1/2) bags weigh
siniylev [52]
One bag is 5 1/4 pounds so you need to multiply that by 1 1/2 or 3/2 as an improper fraction

21/4 x 3/2 =63/8 change that to a proper fraction to get 7 7/8 lbs
