Summarize the major causes of Racial Tension after World War I.

History

There was a lot of racial tension during the war. Black soldiers were not treated like white soldiers were, even though they wanted to fight in the war. They were segregated (they were desegregated in 1948 by President Truman) from the whites and given menial roles even though they put their lives on the line for the United States. They also received less medals than white soldiers did. When these soldiers came home they still faced a lot of racial tension.

Postwar did bring a massive civil rights movement to the forefront, which eventually led to equal rights. Of course many people did not like the fact that blacks were demanding equal rights. There were many people who believed that blacks are not equal to whites and there were people both black and white who fought together for equal rights.

Truman had 3 choices in regards to the atomic bomb. Which one would you have made? Give one positive tand one negative to your c
Otrada [13]

Answer:

You did not include the choices however one of them was to demonstrate the power of the atomic bomb to the Japanese by dropping it on an unpopulated area and I would have done that.

Choice: Demonstrate power of bomb by dropping it on Unpopulated Area

Positive : Over a 100,000 Japanese civilians would have been spared death and property would not have been destroyed on a massive scale. Also the area would not be radioactive leading to adverse effects on generations of people born near the drop zone.

Negative: The Japanese were very defiant and stubborn in their fighting and so might have ignored the demonstration which would have meant that we wasted 50% of our nuclear bombs as the United States because only 2 existed in the world at the time and the U.S. had both.

why has the Nile River been described as the "lifeblood" of Egypt? Why was the river essential to the Egyptians? Explain your an
Arisa [49]
The Nile River is described as the lifeblood of Egypt because everybody needed the river. They grew crops, took baths, and cleaned clothes in the river. So many people relied on the river back then, and still do to this day. The number one reason the river was needed was for crops. The sand and dirt away from the river was not fertile and dry, so crops weren't able to be grown. Now next to the river, the ground as fertile and wet. Farmers lived near and relied on the Nile a lot.
