Euler's formula = F + V - E = 2

we know that F + V - E = 2

therefore 28 + 40 - E = 2

==> 68 - E = 2

==> - E = 2 - 68

==> - E = - 66

==> E = 66

hence, the number of edges of the polyhedron is 66.
