So say for example we have
x5−3x3−2x2+6
We group the terms together by 2's
(x5−3x3)−(2x2−6)
Notice how that highlighted '-' is there...it WAS '+' but since we have a '-' in front of the parenthesis...when that distributes..it turns that '+' '-' again So now...we factor out of each parenthesis what we can... x^5 - 3x^3 ...well looks like at least x^3 can come out of there 2x^2 - 6 ...well we can factor a 2 out of there.. so now we have
x3(x2−3)−2(x2−3)
Now notice how we have 2 parenthesis that have the same thing inside them...and we also have 2 coefficients of those parenthesis...so we put those together respectively
(coefficients in here)(those things in the parentheis since they are the same)
(x3−2)(x2−3)
Everything make sense?

Well say we have
3x2+10x−8
We can actually break up that 10x ...and make it -2x + 12x right? since -2 + 12 =10 so we would then have
3x2−2x+12x−8
NOW we can group these up by 2's
(3x2−2x)+(12x−8)
Lets factor out an 'x' of the first set of parenthesis...and also lets factor out a 4 of the last set...
x(3x−2)+4(3x−2)
Look the same thing as before...same thing in both parenthesis.and 2 coefficients outside...so again
(x+4)(3x−2)

Lets suppose that the 4-term polynomial that is being factored is x^5-3x^2x^2+6.

x^5-3x^2x^2+6.

Factor out common terms in the first two terms, then in the last two terms

x^3(x^2-3)-2(x^2-3)

Factor out the common term ({x}^{2}-3)

({x}^{2}-3)(x^3-2)

Now lets factor a quadratic trinomial using this method

3x^2+10x-8

Split the second term into two terms

Multiply the coefficient of the first term by the constant term

3*-8=-24

Ask yourself: Which two numbers will add up to 10 and multiply to -24?

12 \ \text{and} \ -2

Split 10x as the sum of 12x and -2x

3x^2+12x-2x-8

Factor out common terms in the first two terms, then in the last two terms

3x(x+4)-2(x+4)

Factor out the common term x+4

(x+4)(3x-2)

harina [27]

Answer:

If gabe has a gift card for $50 then <u>it will cover the cost of jeans. </u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Gabe is buying a pair of jeans at a local store that are priced at $45.

He knows that the country he lives in has an 8% tax added onto the list price.

Now, if gabe has a gift card for $50 to get will it cover the cost of jeans.

Price of a pair of jeans = $45.

Tax = 8%.

Now, getting the amount of jeans including tax:

$45 + 8% of $45.

= 45+\frac{8}{100} \times 45

=45+0.08\times 45

=45+3.6

=48.6

Thus, the amount of jeans including tax = $48.60.

As, given Gabe has gift card of $50.

Now, subtracting the amount of jeans from amount of gift card:

50-48.60=1.40

So, $1.40 is still remaining.

Therefore, if gabe has a gift card for $50 then it will cover the cost of jeans.

1.75_____, 6.75, 9.25, 11.75 / Rule:_________________
dimaraw [331]
This looks like an addition (summation is the technical term) series. Here we need to figure out the difference between each number in the series. The difference between 6.75 and 9.25 is 2.5 (You can subtract the larger number from the smaller number to find out). So, 6.75-2.5=4.25.

So the correct answer in the blank is 4.25, and the rule is +2.5.

rewona [7]

Answer:

D. +3.82

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the test static for this test is shown below:

Data provided in the question

\bar x= $8,745

\mu = $8,500

\sigma = $1,200 and n = 350

Now based on the above information, the test static for this test is

z = \frac{\bar x - \mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }

z = \frac{\$8,745 - \$8,500}{\frac{\$1,200}{\sqrt{350} } } \\

= 3.82

= +3.82

Hence, the test static for this test is +3.82

We simply applied the above formula so that the correct value could come

And, the same is to be considered
