10^-10 in decimal form is 0.000000001. Because the exponent is negative, you move the decimal point ( decimal point is at the end of 0 of the base number 10) 10 place to the right of 10 and u get the answer above. I discarded the 0 later in the answer because now that you've moved the decimal, that 0 have no value. But when forming it in decimal you have to use that 0 or you will get a wrong answer, instead of eight 0's, you will end up with nine 0's.

Answer: The price of the torch is 2 and 2/2.5 is 80% or 8/10th of the total price.

Step-by-step explanation:

x is the price of the battery

x + 1.50 is the price of the torch

x + (x + 1.50) is 2.50

x + (x + 1.50) = 2.50

2x = 2.50 - 1.50

2x = 1

x = 1/2

x = 0.50

The price of the torch is 2 and 2/2.5 is 80% or 8/10th of the total price.

The weight of Jacobs backpack is made of the weight of the contents of the backpack as well as the weight of backpack itself. Se
marusya05 [52]

It looks like there are choices. If I don't get this the way your choices are written please leave a note under my answer.

total weight = w

w = n + bp + t

t = 70% * w <<<< One possible answer

t = (70/100)*W = 0.7*W Either one of these could be an answer.

n = 4 pounds

bp = 2 pounds

w = 4 + 2 + t Substitute for t

W = 6 + (70%W)

W = 6 + (70/100) * W

W = 6 + 0.7*W Subtract 0.7W from both sides.

W - 0.7W = 6

0.3W = 6 Divide by 0.3

W = 6/0.3

W = 20

t = (70/100*20 = 14 <<<< Could be an answer.

Please put the possible choices up soon. The mods can be very touchy about uncertain answers. They are correct to delete such questions.
