Answer:

b=1399.43

Step-by-step explanation:

We know our A side (length CH) is 3960

First we have to find our c side or length CE

Add 3960 and the altitude of 240 which equals 4200

then use the Pythagorean Theorem of A squared + B squared = C squared

if you plug that in its

3,960 squared + B squared = 4200 squared

If you calculate that its

15,681,600 + b squared = 17,640,000

then you want to isolate the variable

youll want to subtract 15, 681,600 from both sides of the = sign

this gives you b squared = 1,958,400

then youll have to find the square root of both

the square root of B squared is B

the square root of 1,958,400 is 1399.43

so B = 1399.43

Answer:

the third one and the last one is correct

Step-by-step explanation:

we already know the second one is wrong because of it's set up.

just replace the points (-1,7) into each equation. if it doesn't work then move on to the next one. if it does work, then use that same equation except this time to the coordinates (2,4)

A scale model of a tower is 24 inches tall and 18 inches wide. If the height of the actual tower is 60 feet, what is its width?
meriva

Answer:

The actual tower would be 45 ft wide.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the width, we need to determine the scale factor. We can do that by dividing the actual height by the model height.

60ft:24in = 15ft:6in = 2.5ft:1in

Now we use that scale factor to determine the width. Multiply the scale factor by the width of the model.

18 inches * 2.5ft/in = 45 feet
