You need to know that the various antibiotic drugs are not all equally effective in controlling the bacteriagrowth. Take for example the Staphylococcus aureus. Different antibiotic drugs can have different effects. The most effective antibiotic drug against that bacteria is Penicillin, because it controlled the growth of the bacteria the most. A second example is the Streptococcus penumoniae. With that bacetria the antibiotic drug that was the most effective was the Erythromycin. A third example is Hemophilus influenza. With this one the Erythromycin antibiotic drug is also the most effective. Have in mind that the smaller the diameter correlates with the effectiveness of controlling the bacterial growth. Some of the bacteria growth was stopped by antibiotic drugs, and some weren’t.

What is a prokaryote, and when did prokaryotes arise?
RideAnS [48]
A prokaryote is a unicellular organism that belongs to either the domain Bacteria or the domain Archaea. Therefore, unlike a eukaryote, the prokaryote lacks in a nucleus and other organelles. The first organisms that appeared about 3.5 billions years ago were prokaryotes. They developed primitive forms of photosynthesis without oxygen as a waste. The first photosynthesizing prokaryotes appeared about 2.7 billion years ago which led to the changes in Earth atmosphere and consequently organisms dependant on oxygen could arise.

An organism possesses one copy of each allele type for a given gene. It is said to be __________.
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

Heterozygous for the gene

Explanation:

Alleles are the possible alternative forms of a gene. An organism having two identical alleles of a gene is said to be homozygous for that gene. On the other hand, an organism having two dissimilar alleles for a gene is heterozygous for that gene.

For example, let's suppose that I^A and I^B are the two alleles for ABO blood type in humans. Here, an individual with one copy of I^A and one copy of I^B would be heterozygous for ABO blood type. On the other hand, genotypes I^AI^A and I^BI^B are homozygous for the ABO blood type gene.
