The correct answer here is that the Renaissance is the name for the increase in learning during the 1300s, 1400s and 1500s. The renaissance was a part of European history and is often seen as a sort of linking period between the lesser-known times in the middle ages, and the time that we think of as modern history.

How did the Space Race benefit US society?
spin [16.1K]
I think that the 'by-products' of the Space Race are what really benefit us. The Race itself is pretty irrevelant. It forced both nations to push their technology to its limits and as a result of the huge government expenditures, we now have better technology to use in everyday life. Things like LCD screens, computers and energy saving and water filtration technology are all aspects of space research which is relevant to us.

wich was not a reason johnson used when vetoing the extension of the freedmens bureau and civil rights bill of 1866
Mkey [24]
He vetoed it for various reasons. For starters, he believed that it was a thing up to individual states and that it infringed on the states right to choose. Another reason was that he believed that such beneficial extension would not make people equal, but rather it would be racist towards the white people. His main argument, however, was that the bill would have a certain group gain rights that they are not entitled to, while a large part of the states does not even have representation in the congress, and that the congress needs to be enlarged first.
