What elements of manet’s painting are borrowed from the ""pastoral concert""? what is borrowed from the drawing of ""the judgeme
kumpel [21]

The composition of Luncheon on the Grass, a painting by Manet is clearly inspired by two 16th-century Italian works of art: the Pastoral Concert and The Judgment of Paris.

From the painting "Pastoral Concert", an allegorical representation of poetry and music, Manet adapted the dynamic of his two clothed men and his two women sitting outside, one of who is seated and nud.e, and one who seems to be bat.hing. Manet saw this work in the Louvre and it thought to have inspired him to paint "Luncheon on the Grass".

In addition to the Pastoral concert, Luncheon on the Grass also makes reference to "The Judgment of Paris", an engraving depicting scenes from Greek mythology. In particular, Manet was inspired by the poses and formations of his three figures (two river gods and his one water nymph) in the lower right corner of the work.
