How did new weapons and methods of warfare make the Great War standout?
gtnhenbr [62]
It was a very deadly war--the Great War produced new forms of guns, bombs, and gas weapons which proved to be devastating.

The Great War, World War I, saw the emergence of tanks, rapid fire machine guns, grenades, mustard gas, and well as airplanes. The method of trench warfare in addition to highly accurate and deadly weapons led to both large numbers of causalities and stalemates. These weapons made it difficult to move position causing need for new techniques or new technology to allow movement.

The memories of a long and bloody revolution were still too fresh and those who opposed Napoleon did not want to see another war breakout among the French people. They had hoped that, though he was alive, Napoleon would have little influence on France while in exile.

Nady [450]

Answer:

Sectionalism served Abe Lincoln well in the presidential election of 1860. All of the Northern states opposed slavery, so the popular vote went with like-minded Lincoln. The victory spurred 11 Southern states to secede from the union and form the Confederate States of America.
