Answer:

a) Scholars believe that greater access to political information may explain why young Americans are more liberal than their parents on many social issues.

Explanation:

Political socialization is a medium through which political information are inculcated into the minds of people. Their political opinions are shaped as well as consciously internalized through the process of political socialization.

It acts as an impetus in developing a distinct political opinion by generating an awareness of their individuality in the larger spectrum of society. The process of acquiring political ideology through which people of different age groups and generations learn, adapt and behave.

Larger availability and access to political information related to young Americans make them more liberal than their parents on different social issues. It is a learning process through which behaviors and norms acceptable to one generation are transmitted to another. Such an opinions are formed through various sources like family, school, friends, religion, media etc.

Answer:

The answer is A : Scholars believe that greater access to political information may explain why young Americans are more liberal than their parents on many social issues.

Explanation:

Political Socialization is a lifelong process by which an individual's view on politics is shaped by his/her social circles.

Social circles such as the family, cycle of friends, educational institutions and the media act as agents of socialization and all play  key roles in shaping one's political perspectives and values.

That said, the role of the American family in shaping political views is dwindling as most American parents hardly talk to and educate their children on political matters except of course if the child is born into the home of a politician .

With the advent of the internet and social media as well as globalization, political information is readily available to young adults,  giving them options in making their informed decisions especially if they believe that the views of their parents or teachers is biased.

Thus the internet creates a platform that makes political and social information readily available enabling them to be more liberal and flexible in their opinions than their parents on a myriad of social issues.

List and describe five important rights protected by the Fifth Amendment. Then choose one of these rights and briefly explain wh
NeX [460]

Answer:

The fifth amendment protects the following rights of each Citizen in the US.As it made it very easy for the system, as well for all the individuals to deal with the criminal trials and protection of ones possession inside the US.

  1. Not to punish any person twice on the bases of the same charges filed against them before or for the same offence made by the criminal(A prohibition on double jeopardy).
  2. As no one can be termed as criminal before he or she faces the grand jury or the court (Right to indictment by the grand jury before any criminal charges for felonious crimes).
  3. While a person is under trial he can't be forced to provide any evidence to help the system to prosecute the same person in a any case, as he can willingly provide some material or evidence only upon his will(A right against forced self-incrimination).
  4. Each individual who is facing some legal issues and is faced by the court or the system inside the US will be granted the right to go through a procedure of trial. As no one can be termed as criminal unless there are any number of true evidence or proofs been presented in the court(A guarantee that all criminal defendants have a fair trial).
  5. The System or The Government of the United States can't confiscate any citizen's property or land (possession of that individual), without the well of that individual. It can only be able to do so after both the parties agree on a set of terms. As the government is required to pay the required amount of money as per the market ( a guarantee that government cannot seize private property without making a due compensation at the market value of the property).

Explanation:

  • <u>" A guarantee that all criminal defendants have a fair trial":</u>

Logically it is also very unfair and inhumane to term any individual as a criminal with out having any trial set for that person. As a person can be punished or termed as a criminal by the system on proving the charges filed against him or her. As the individual will be required pass from a series of trials, after which if proved guilty by the grand jury and the court, he will be punished or simply jailed. Or else he will leave as an innocent.

  • As before the fifth amendment was proposed and after it accepted to be included as a part of the constitution, there were some cases which were dealt in a very unfair way so, many of accusations were just baseless and with out having any trial for any accused, the system was able to term him as a criminal. As it was an ill treatment of the accused which led many to serve jail and more punishment in the early years.
