One of the main source of sediment in flowing water is soil erosion.

Explanation:

Soil erosion is the washing away of top most layer of soil due to various reasons.

Agents of soil erosion are: wind, water, animals, ice or gravity.

Water is one of the biggest agent or cause of soil erosion. Water carry lots of energy in its motion. When water moves from any area it carries away topmost layer of soil with it. The soil that is being carried away by water is sediment.

When this water reach river, lake or any other water source, sediments carried by them enters that source of water. Sediment results in water pollution.

Propose an experiment that would test if the RNA component of telomerase serves as a template to extend telomeres. A cell free s
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

To study the importance of the RNA telomer element, we can evaluate it by generating an in vitro state where all the purified components are included, organizing two groups, one of them will have an RNAase and the other will not, if it is observed that the telomeres extend to the component of the RNA, in the set where there is no RNAase, longer telomeres could be observed, if there were no influence of the RNA, the length in both groups would be the same

If organisms inherited traits via blending inheritance, rather than Mendelian inheritance, what would we expect the offspring (F
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

green-flowered plants

Explanation:

In biology, blending inheritance refers to an erroneous theory from the XIX century, which proposed that the progeny (F1) inherits phenotypic traits as an average of parental phenotypic values. If this theory would be true then a crossing of a blue flower variety with a yellow variety of the same species would produce green-flowered progeny (since green is a combination of blue and yellow). Charles Darwin used pangenesis, a hypothetical mechanism for heredity that implied blending inheritance, in order to understand the transmission of hereditary characters. Darwin believed that different parts of the body generated heredity particles called 'gemmules' that aggregated in the gonads, and contributed to the transmission of heritable information to the next generation. The blending inheritance theory was replaced by Mendelian inheritance during the early 1900s.

As the course of evolution has proceedin plants, what is the overall trend in the relationship of the diploid stage and the hapl
Lostsunrise [7]
Meiosis in simple terms is the process by which gametes (sperm and egg) fuse together to produce a fertilised egg. Haploid is a word that refers to how many chromosomes a certain cell has. In this case the gametes have a haploid number of chromosomes, which is half the number a normal cell has. A normal cell has a diploid number of chromosomes. So in meiosis the two gametes come together with their hapoid number of chromosomes each to create an egg that has a diploid (standard) number of chromosomes.
