Can waves travel through empty space? why?
jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

Elctromagnetic waves can travel through empty space.

Explanation:

Waves that may pass through matter or empty space are known as electromagnetic waves. The electromagnetic field, like the other basic fields, penetrates the whole universe, including the region we refer to as empty space. There are no fields in space. The medium through which electromagnetic waves travel is called the electromagnetic field.

Why is Sodium chloride a compound but not a molecule? I thought all the compounds are molecule but not all molecules are compoun
Firdavs [7]
Molecule is the general term used to describe any atoms that are connected by chemical bonds. Every combination of atoms is a molecule. A compound is a molecule made of atoms from different elements.
Well, if a molecule is considered to be a discrete small unit made up of atoms joined together, then NaCl, and any other ionic solid is not really a molecule. In NaCl we have a repetitive crystal structure in which each Na+ ion is surrounded by Cl- ions, and vice-versa, for as far as the crystal extends. There really isn't such a thing as an NaCl molecule.

A chemistry student is given 600. mL of a clear aqueous solution at 27.° C. He is told an unknown amount of a certain compound X
DiKsa [7]

Answer: No

Explanation:

Firstly, the molar mass of the dissolved solid is not given. This is necessary to calculate the number of moles present in solution. Secondly, solubility always has to do with temperature and the specified temperature is 27°c and not 21°c. This makes it impossible to calculate the solubility at 21°c. Further information must supplied before the solubility at 21°c can be accurately calculated.

The celestial bodies in space move about in predictable paths called blank . As a result, a planet is able to blank around the S
rewona [7]

Answer:

Gravity

Explanation:

All matter exerts a force, which is called , that pulls all other matter towards its center. The strength of the force depends on the mass of the object: the Sun has more gravity than Earth, which in turn has more gravity than an apple. Also, the force weakens with distance. Objects far from the Sun won’t be influenced by its gravity.
