Answer: 9 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of Ashley be x.

Then the present age of Alfonso =x+8

Five years ago,

Ashley's age = x-5

Alfonso's age = x+8-5 = x+3

According to the question,

x+3=3(x-5)\\\Rightarrow\ x+3=3x-15\\\Rightarrow\ 3x-x=3+15\\\Rightarrow\ 2x=18\\\Rightarrow\ x=\frac{18}{2}\\\Rightarrow\ x=9

Hence, the present age of Ashley =9 years

we know that the shaded side is 90 degrees and we are given 28 degrees

So we add 90+28 and we get 118

Since a triangle has 180 degrees, we subtract 180-118 to fins the missing angle measure

180-118=62

x=62

Your equation is 180=90+28+x

All you have to do is plug in the number for x, and find y. I will write this out as if in that chart you have shown.

x                            y = 9 - 3x                                    y

_______________________________________

0                           y = 9 - 3(0)                                  9

1                            y = 9 - 3(1)                                   6

2                           y = 9 - 3(2)                                  3

3                           y = 9 - 3(3)                                  0

Hope that helps!!

The density of ice is approximately 0.92 g/cm3 . If a block of ice has a volume of 2300 cm3, what is its mass?
Mumz [18]

Answer:

The mass of the ice block is 2116 grams ⇒ a

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of density is p=\frac{m}{V} , where m is the mass and V is the volume

To find the mass from this formula multiply both sides by V,

then m = p.V

∵ The density of ice is approximately 0.92 g/cm³

∴ p = 0.92

- That means the mass of 1 cm³ is 0.92 g

∵ The volume of an ice block is 2300 cm³

∴ V = 2300

- Use the formula of the mass

∵ m = p.V

- Substitute the values of p and V in it

∴ m = (0.92)(2300)

∴ m = 2116 grams

The mass of the ice block is 2116 grams
