Answer: The Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1964

Explanation:

The Vietnam War was a conflict between North Vietnam and South Vietnam from 1959 to 1975. This conflict was motivated by ideological issues and relied on the intense involvement of the US military from 1965 to 1973. Shortly after the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy, the United States started a new attitude in the conflict. With Kennedy's death, the deputy, Lyndon Johnson, held the presidency of the United States and, during his rule, the country began to act directly in the conflict with the sending of troops. The Americans entered the conflict after the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. In that incident, the USS Maddox was allegedly attacked twice by North Vietnamese torpedo boats (the second attack has never been proven). This was used as a pretext by Lyndon Johnson to authorize the attack on North Vietnam and the deployment of troops.

What was an effect of the United States entry into World War I?
MariettaO [177]

Answer: The entry of the United States was the turning point of the war, because it made the eventual defeat of Germany possible. It had been foreseen in 1916 that if the United States went to war, the Allies' military effort against Germany would be upheld by U.S. supplies and by enormous extensions of credit.
