X = small van capacity, y = larger van capacity
y = x + 6

2x + y = 57
now we sub in x + 6 for y
2x + x + 6 = 57
3x + 6 = 57
3x = 57 - 6
3x = 51
x = 51/3
x = 17

y = x + 6
y = 17 + 6
y = 23

small van (x) has 17 seats and large van (y) has 23 seats

The ratio of games won at to the games lost for a basketball team is 3:2. The team won 18 games. How many games did the team los
schepotkina [342]

A ratio of 3:2.

The easiest way to go about this is to divide the actual number of wins (18) by its corresponding element in the ratio.

So:

\frac{18}{3}= 6

This means every element on the ratio has a value of 6.

The amount of element in the ratio that correspond to losses is 2.

Multiply the actual amount of matches per element in the ratio by the number of elements that represents the losses in the ratio.

6*2=12

Your answer:

<em>"The team lost 12 games."</em>

In this problem, we're going to explain why any trapezoid that can be inscribed in a circle must be an isosceles trapezoid. In t
Triss [41]

Since the trapezoid can be inscribed in a circle, that means angle B + angle D = 180 degree. Since AB is parallel to CD, then angle B + angle C = 180 degree. Therefore, angle D = angle C.

Which statements about square roots are true? Check all that apply.
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

The only correct answer is:

All positive numbers have two square roots

Step-by-step explanation:

This is true because in any situation all positive numbers have two square roots. For example, the square root of 25 is +/- 5 which means that 5 is a square root (because 5x5=25) and -5 is a square root (because -5x-5=25).

The others such as 18 = 9, 149 = 7, and 25 = 5 are all false statements.
