The NAACP was the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People- the name already shows you that they were interested in racial equality! They filed the case in order to repeal and forbid the practice of having racial segregation at schools - and they won!

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a civil rights organization founded in 1909. It was founded after the purpose of "ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons" and to "eliminate race-based discrimination".

Brown vs Board of Education represented a key victory in the NAACP's efforts to completely eliminate segregation in the southern states after the Supreme Court held that state-sponsored discrimination in public schools was unconstitutional in 1954.
