ANEK [815]

Answer:

you would use your muscles from your legs and your body to get up from your bed and go to your fridge, your muscular system helps you up by being a structure for the muscles to apply force, you will use arm muscles for getting out cookies and milk. Then you will drink and eat your cookies and milk with your jaw muscle and send it down your esophagus to the intestines for the digestive system to break down your food. Then you will use your legs(muscles) to go back to your bed and sleep. (don't copy this whole thing it is not complete and you must add stuff so it is complete im just giving you an idea or the structure of this essay)

A surgeon is in the operating room assisting on a lung transplant he is working at the cellular level
Ronch [10]
The statement above is FALSE. In the scenario given above the doctor is working at the organ level. This is because, he is working with lung which is an organ that participates in breathing. The lung is an organ because it is made up of different tissues which are in turn made up of different cells.
Working at the cellular level involve working with cells. For instance, when a microbiologist is growing a cell in a culture, he is working at a cellular level.

Answer:

The answer to these questions are the following:

1. sucrose solution (higher concentration of water molecules in the onion cells) >> red onion cells will shrink >> smaller diameter

2. distilled water (higher concentration of water molecules in the surrounding solution) >> red onion cells will become turgid >> higher diameter

Osmosis refers to the movement of a solvent (usually water molecules) across semipermeable biological membranes, which occurs from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. There are three classes of solutions that have different effects on cells due to the process of osmosis:

1. In a hypotonic solution, the cells will become turgid

2. In an isotonic solution, the cells will become flaccid.

3. In a hypertonic solution, the cells will shrink (plasmolysis)

When plant cells are placed into a hypertonic solution where there is a greater concentration of solute outside the cells (as in this case sucrose solution), water molecules will move from inside the cells to outside the cells, thereby cells will shrink due to water loss

When plant cells are placed into a hypotonic solution that is diluted in comparison to the content of the cell (as in this case plant cells placed in distilled water) water molecules will move from outside the cells to inside the cells, thereby cells will become turgid.

Living organisms increase in complexity as they grow, resulting in a decrease in the entropy of an organism. How does this relat
alekssr [168]

Second law of thermodynamics

Explanation:

 • Living organisms are highly organizational and therefore it seems that it feeds from “negative entropy” or, by other words, maintaining and getting to a stationary condition where the entropy level is low.
 • Nevertheless it is necessary to understand that the proper definition of the second law of thermodynamics says that the entropy of an adiabatically isolated system never decreases.
 • In this context a living cell or organism is not an isolated system, since it gets the nutrients from the exterior, that is, there is an exchange of heat or matter with the environment, and by doing so, we have to consider the system as an open one, together with its environment, restoring the balance to the universe in an increase of entropy, or by other words, increase of disorder.
