The founding fathers would have welcomed the immigrants coming from worn torn countries with open arms.  As seen in the quotations, the founding fathers say "Give me your tired, your poor"... indicating that they want those immigrants to come to America.  They want people who are not fortunate and who are struggling to survive to come to America because America is open to all races and all those types of people.  The founding fathers also say "Send these, homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!".  Tempests, are storms, and people who are "tempest-tossed" are not in good condition.  The founding fathers want people who are not in very stable conditions, and those who are "homeless" to come to the land of opportunity.  America will open its "golden door" to those who are suffering.
