Although North was more industrialized than the South and therefore have a clear advantage in terms of supply of war material. South was unique in its own, soldier-like tradition. It should be noted here that some of the best-trained Generals United States Military Academy resigned to join the Confederacy cause. Many of the soldiers were natural riders and shooters. They saw it as a mission of defending the homeland from the invaders.
