ent) and across all threats and hazards. Four of the five preparedness mission areas are: Prevention, Protection, Response, and Recovery. Which is the fifth mission area?
Along with Prevention, Protection, Response, and Recovery required for executing a function, the other mission area is Mitigation, which has the specific purpose of <em>avoiding</em> that lives and properties be lost. This is achieved by the measures taken to ensure that any future disasters ocurring in the same area have less impact and cause the minimal harm possible.
