72/12=6

Final answer: \boxed{=72}

Komok [63]

The answer is 7√3 and I'll tell you why

So the first step is to break down these big numbers to find a commen number like this:

√75= 5√3

√12= 2√3

Next you will just simply add the similar elements together:

5√3 + 2√3

5+2= 7

and so 7√3 is the correct answer

A grocer bought some walnuts for 45¢ per pound and some pecans for 60¢ per pound. He wants to mix the pecans and walnuts togethe
ladessa [460]
Cost of walnuts = 45 cents per pound
Weight of walnuts in mixture = x pounds

So, total cost of walnuts in the mixture = 45x
This gives the cost in cents. The cost in dollars will be = 0.45x

Cost of pecans = 60 cents per pound

Since total weight of the mixture is 90 pounds. The weight of pecans in the mixture will be (90 - x) pounds.

So, total cost of pecans in the mixture will be = 60 (90 - x)
This gives the cost in cents, the cost in dollars will be = 0.6 (90 - x)

x pounds of walunts and (90-x) pounds of pecans are mixed to produce a mixture to sell at 55 cents per pound. So,we can set up the equation for this case as:

Cost of Walnuts + Cost of Pecans = Cost of Mixture

0.45x+(90-x)*0.60=90(0.55)

Using this equation, we can find the weight of walnuts, using x we can also find the weight of pecans. From weights we can then calculate the cost of walnuts and pecans used in the mixture.

Michael has $10 to put in a savings account . He has two options for a saving account : Option 1 will add $ 100 to his account e
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

Option 1:

He starts with $10, and for each week, we add $100

Then his balance as a function of weeks will be:

f(w) = $10 + $100*w

option 2.

Again, we start with $10, and for each week that passes this is doubled, then the equation will be:

g(w) = $10*(2)^w

Now, we want in week w = 7 to have at least $700, then we need to replace w by 7 in both equations and see which one is better.

option 1:

f(7) = $10 + $100*7 = $710

With option 1 he will have enough

option 2:

g(7) = $10*(2)^7 = $1280

Again, he will have more than $700 in week 7, and we can clearly see that this option is better.
